My latest in The Nation on AI companion litigation
Also, I'll be migrating some of you over to BROTOPIANS
Check out my latest piece for The Nation: A Landmark Suit Against Meta and YouTube Opens the Floodgate for AI Litigation, which looks briefly at the social media addiction case that Meta and YouTube lost last week and argues that “many of the cases that will follow … will center around the damages caused not by social media but by so-called AI companions, and their harms can be even more severe and insidious.“
I also wanted to let you know that I’ll be migrating the several hundred of you who signed up for this newsletter after I appeared on The Left Hook podcast recently over to BROTOPIANS, my new newsletter about techbros and their quest to exit democracy, because I’m pretty sure that’s the newsletter you all meant to sign up for, given that this newsletter here is pretty much defunct except for announcements like these and that BROTOPIANS is the one that talks about the same sort of stuff I talked about on the podcast.
And if you’re not one of those new subscribers being migrated, you might consider migrating yourself over and subscribing to the new newsletter because honestly it’s pretty entertaining in a grim sort of way.
